Slick Minds Studio is the software we use to produce the shop. It runs on a Slick Minds computer and is used only by Slick Minds staff. It isn’t sold, distributed or open to sign-ups.
What it does
- Plans designs around the selling calendar, a season ahead, so makers have time to produce their own products.
- Creates artwork with AI image tools, checks it, and prepares the files buyers download.
- Sends finished products to Etsy as draft listings. Nothing is published until a person reviews it and publishes it.
Why it connects to Google Drive
Etsy allows up to five files of 20 MB each per listing. Bundles larger than that are delivered through Google Drive: buyers download a PDF from Etsy that links to the bundle’s folder in Drive.
To do that, the Studio asks Google for the drive.file permission, which covers only the files and folders the Studio itself creates. With it, the Studio:
- creates a “Slick Minds Bundles” folder, and a folder for each bundle inside it;
- uploads the bundle’s files into that folder;
- sets the bundle folder so that anyone with the link can view and download it, which is how buyers receive it;
- looks up folders it created earlier, so it can reuse them;
- shows the name or email address of the connected Google account, so we can confirm which account is connected.
It can’t see, open, change or delete any other file in the Drive, and it doesn’t delete the files it creates.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains exactly which Google user data the Studio uses, where it’s kept and how access is revoked. Use of the Studio is also covered by our Terms of Service.
